Teletherapy OLD
Get Help. Get Better. Get Support.
Video Chat with a Licensed Psychologist
Teletherapy uses technology to make it easier for you to get the counseling you need. You can do it conveniently from your phone or computer. It’s an especially good choice when getting to a therapist’s office can be a challenge – like when a disability makes it hard to get around or when your busy family schedule keeps you out of a therapist’s office.
People also like teletherapy because they can talk with a therapist from the privacy of their own homes without the worry of accidentally running into someone they know in the waiting room. If anxiety and worry have kept you from getting the help you need, teletherapy might be for you.
At Saint Paul-based Psychology and Rehabilitation Services, Ltd., we use the latest technology do individual therapy and couples therapy online. This teletherapy is a useful tool to help people deal with many issues, including:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- PTSD
- Learning disorders
- Work and relationship problems
Our telemedicine/tele-psychology services are delivered through HIPAA-compliant software and from a highly reputable and trustworthy source that maximizes service delivery.
What to Expect From Teletherapy
Teletherapy is a lot like traditional therapy—except that you’ll do it from home (or another comfortable, private place). You can use your phone or an iPad, tablet or computer to talk with your counselor using Facetime or Skype. You’ll have regularly scheduled video chat sessions, and you’ll work through tough issues just like you would if you were in the office.
To help you think differently about the issues in your life, your therapist will ask questions. You’ll set goals and make plans for how to reach them. And your licensed psychologist will be there at every step of the way to encourage you and support you.
Does Online Therapy Really Work?
Yes, online therapy really works. Studies show that it’s just as effective as traditional office visits. That means you can find just as much hope—by changing negative thinking and learning to make your life better—as you could in a face-to-face visit.
